My jeninser AOC tastes different from the typical wines of the Bündner Herrschaft. And yet it contains all the power of this special terroir. This is because I only use grapes from my own vineyard in the most beautiful location, the center of the village of Jenins. The intense Gamaret grapes grow there alongside the traditional Pinot Noir. This grape variety from western Switzerland is rarely cultivated in the Bündner Herrschaft, as Pinot Noir is actually the dominant grape variety here.

The dark Gamaret grapes are carefully dried for several weeks after the harvest. The grapes are then fermented on the skins. My jeninser AOC contains a lot of manual work, joy and the capricious weather conditions of an entire year. Its roots remain, its richness is renewed with every vintage.
