apriori 2022

75cl

Mountain sun and primary rock

bottled in march 2023

It contains centuries-old European tradition combined with the New World’s eagerness to experiment and my personal flair for grapes from the Valais. Who said white wines were no fun?

apriori is made from my favourite grapes – both are ancient varieties that have been grown in the Valais since the 14th century: Humagne Blanche and Petite Arvine. It’s this combination that gives apriori its unique character. This assemblage is not for traditionalists, but it’s a stroke of luck for sensualists. I got the numbers to add up: 1 + 1 = 3

To make apriori, I process each variety separately, then taste and evaluate them before blending. Both wines are matured in stainless steel tanks. apriori is a wonderfully appealing wine that guarantees AOC quality, continuity and an unmistakable style. It is creamy and soft in the mouth, with a mineral, almost salty finish. Delicious and moreish.

Tasting notes IWC Challenge 2020:
«Dried hay, quince and a hint of lychee on the palate. Sweet waxy finish.» Panel Chair: Anne Burchett | Co-Chair: Jamie Goode, Silver-Medal, 92 IWC Points
