nanumy is made from one of the most popular white grape varieties in the world: Sauvignon Blanc. A modern white wine from the Valais – of customary AOC quality.

In fact, nanumy doesn’t taste like a normal Sauvignon Blanc. This one’s an eccentric, with fresh, exotic fruit flavours and a vibrant, crisp mineral note. Its strong, alpine character is shaped by diligent work in the vineyards and precise vinification.

I am often asked what the charming name “nanumy” actually means. The inspiration came to me as I was reading the popular placeholder text “Lorem ipsum” a bit more carefully. It’s a true treasure trove: the fifth paragraph contains the enigmatic phrase “diam nonumy eirmod tempor”. From there, it was a small step to “nanumy”. Or would “tempor” have been better?
